As a fine art portrait photographer, Patrice Delmotte dedicates this page as an homage to all his models and friends without whom his fine art portrait photography and photo books would not exist.

Been in love with the culture and the gentleness of the Balinese, Patrice Delmotte have the opportunity to build DEA villas a complex of four villas in Bali where he spends a lot of good time. He produces five book photos not really travel guide, but rather a photographic promenade to the exposure and discovery of some beliefs, ceremonies and rituals of Bali. Visiting Iran, Cambodia, Lombok, Java and of course Taiwan, Patrice Delmotte produces nine “Promenade” books to discovery the world heritage of the Iranian culture, the splendor of what remain of the Khmer empire, the biggest Buddhist temple in the world, the life in Lombok, the street of Taiwan and always the life of the people there.

In this last exhibition " VISIONS”, Patrice Delmotte explain that photography is no longer that frozen instant of a chosen moment but can becomes an esthetic evolution of that moment, a fine art photography. ARTISTIC NUDE
Patrice Delmotte likes to work with amateur models where the relationship between the photographer and the model is akin to a game of seduction: One is trying to be the most beautiful, the other is trying to make his model the most beautiful. And yes, the reward is to see the model’s happy face when looking at her picture. To his eye, the naked body is a most beautiful landscape, sometimes static, sometimes moving. As suggestion is often more appealing than nudity, he often covers nudity with a transparent drape which the model flourishes in a dance movement. The line that distinguishes artistic nude and mere pornography can be tenuous at best, so inserting poetry into his photos avoids any suggestion of vulgarity. |
